Internet Access and Rape

Look at this genius post.  Roissy takes two factors – internet access and rape – and creates a whole set of “facts” around them.  More internet access correlates to less rape, in his cherry-picked statistics.  But what does this Alpha dog do?  He creates an equation: internet access = porn.  Then, he substitutes porn for internet access, and – voila! – more porn = less rape.  For some rason, it reminds me of the old “marijuana is a gateway drug” argument: most Americans who use heroin smoked pot before they ever used harder drugs.  Thus, marijuana is a “gateway” to harder drugs.  Of course, most Americans who use heroin also first ate McDonald’s.  Is McDonald’s a gateway food?

I digress.  How can Roissy get away with totally making up relationships in order to support his theories?  Answer: he’s SO FUCKING ALPHA.
